Silky indigo (Indigofera hirsuta )
This is use for Ayurvedic Treatments (Headache,Rheumatism, Convulsion). It’s
Family name is “FABACEAE”. Herbaceous annual, to about 1 – 1.5 m tall.
Leaves imparipinnate, 5 – 7 (- 9)-foliolate; leaflets opposite, elliptic to
obovate, 1 – 2 (- 4) X 5 – 10 (- 20 – 30) mm, obtuse at apex, rounded to acute
at the base, pubescent with subapressed hairs on upper surface, lax haire
beneath. Inflorescence racemose, many-flowered, flowers pinkish. Fruit linear,
straight, subtetragonous, 6 – 9 seeded.
Moon vine(Ipomoea alba )
This is very important for Snake
bites. And use this plant Ayurvedic treatments(Cancers, Tumours, Snake bites). It’s Family name is “CONVOLVULACEAE”.
It is
the stems herbaceous at the tips, becoming somewhat woody at the base,
occasionally rooting at the nodes, glabrous. Leaves rounded ovate, entire or
3-5 lobed, 5-15 cm long, basally cordate, glabrous. Inflorescences 1- to
several flowered cymes. Flowers with pedicels 7-15 mm long; corolla white with
greenish nectar guides, tube 9-15 cm long, 8-10 cm broad. Fruit capsular, 2-3
cm long, 1-2 cm in diameter, mostly dark brown, glabrous; seeds dark brown to
black, rarely tan, 8-10 mm long, glabrous.
Scientific
name: (Ipomoea asarifolia)
This is the
very Important in Ayurveda. This is use for much Ayurvedic treatments (Arthritis,
Elephantiasis, Sores, Tertiary syphilis, General Debility) and more Treatments. It’s Family
name is “CONVOLVULACEAE”.
Vines, rooting at the
nodes. Leaves rounded-cordate to subreniform, 4 – 8 cm long, basally cordate,
apically rounded, glabrescent. Inflorescence of solitary flowers or in axillary
or terminal simple or compound cymes. Flowers on pedicels 14 – 24 cm long.
Fruit tardily dehiscent capsules, subglobose, brown, glabrous. Seeds brown or
dark brown, 6 - 7 cm long, minutely gray-pubescent.

name: (Ipomoea littoralis)
This is also use for Ayurvedic Treatments(Kidney Diseases, Liver Diseases,Asthma Gastritis). It’s Family name is
“CONVOLVULACEAE”.
Vines. Leaves
coriaceous, broadly ovate to oblong in outline or orbicular to raniform, very
variable in size, the margins entire, undulate, angular-toothed, 3 –lobed, or
less commonly 5 – 7 lobed, basally cordate, apically acute, obtuse or retuse,
mucronulate, upper and lower surfaces glabrous. Inflorescence axillary, flowers
usually solitary, less commonly cymose. Fruit capsular, depressed-globose, brown.
Seeds black or brown, glabrous.
